Off to Chihuahua to play at 46 Bar & Lounge
Marcos Barrera has asked me to come play at the 46 Bar & Lounge in Chihuahua, Mexico this Friday, Feb 1st. Lance Cashion has played there several times and has had a blast every time. I’m super excited to meet these guys and hopefully rock the house for them. Expect pictures and a recorded set in the coming weeks. Another month, another mix. Here’s a new mix from my 2008-01-25 edition of The Sound on Proton Radio .com. I’m calling it “New Chapter”, as I’ve just bought a new house and feel like this is most definitely a new chapter in my life. I like this mix because I start with some minimal move into some tech house then some electro and end up in some dance rock. I really enjoy shifting genre’s and experimenting with layering moods and energies. Feel free to download or stream the mix. Tracklisting below.

Mike Hiratzka @ SKY - Nov. 17th
This is the third installment of Mike’s monthly at SKY. I’m opening the night again and I’m really looking forward to this. Mike is a seriously great dj and I enjoy hearing him play his own production throughout the night. For anyone who was there last month, I don’t think Mike will be pulling the same trick twice with the CDJ. I still can’t believe that a CDJ can bounce so many times and still play.

Here’s a new mix for your listening pleasures. Tracklistings below. This originally aired on “The Sound” on Proton on October 26th, 2007. The first mix is a tech house/progressive mix that fits in nicely with the Proton sound. The second is my attempt to buck the system and explore the relatively new Dance Rock stuff that I’ve been jamming for the last year. Lance Cashion and Jesse Brede @ SKY Lounge - Sept. 28th, 2007
Lance and I opened the night for Sasha and DJ Three. It was one of the best gigs I’ve had in a good long while and reminded me why I put so much energy into djing. The crowd was awake and really listening to what we were playing. We started slow at around 120 BPM. I searched around for a bit to find a vibe that I liked and settled in on the darker side of tech house. Lance came on and played some really great atmospheric breaks that at first confused the crowd but then as the tracks picked up put the whole night in motion.

I’ve been listening to proton for the last 4 years now. I recently signed up for their On Demand service and its great. I think they’ve done a great job with the site by adding track listings, tags, archived sets and forums. It really gives djs an equal playing field to be creative and have a outlet for music other than clubs.
Feel free to download my most recent mix, its a bit more techy and progressive then what I’ve been playing lately, but I think it works well for Proton.
