Oh how the weekends fly by so fast, its Friday night…snap….now its Sunday…..  When I was younger, it was all about going out on Friday and Saturday and getting as smashed as I physically could and using Sunday to sleep until 2 or 3, eat some greasy food, watch a movie and head back to bed.  As I’ve grown older, some would say wiser, the brunch and Sunday has really started to come into play.  A reasonably healthy meal with my lady and maybe an adult beverage or two really hits the spot.  Austin, Tx has no shortage of amazing restaurants to solicit for experience.   Why not have a DJ come out and play some tunes and really make a day of it?  11 AM too early for you, let’s move it to 3-6PM, now we are talking….this weekend I had the pleasure of playing such a fine event and I was sober enough and had enough daylight to actually record my set.

Thanks to Jeff Strange and the whole Strange family for hosting a great event.  It’s always a pleasure to play the softer side of my collection.

Deadmau5 is officially one of the biggest producer / live acts on the planet and I’m pretty sure his bank account is starting to look pretty sweet. He’s buying lots of fancy modular synths and other outboard gear that will make any electronic music nerd drool. Take a look at these pics if you don’t believe me.

Adam Freeland's new look

New deep mix from Adam Freeland.  It appears that the pendulum has started to swing back to the side of deepness.  For the last 4 years, dance music has been dominated by the buzz saw bass and synth lines of dance rock acts like Justice and Ed Banger records and dubstep legends Rusko and Caspa.  With this mix, I see a signal that djs may have grown weary of the stadium sized tracks and hunger for the deeper tunes that take a more educated ear to appreciate. Adam is always one to push the boundaries, reinvent himself and refuse to categorized.   He’s even got a new look, see picture above.  Adam’s thirst for music knows no bounds, a quick review of his career shows his love for breaks, rock, prog, ambient, dubstep and minimal.  In short, the man has taste.  Enjoy this selection.
