RAW – January 2009

Happy New Year.  2009 promises to be interesting, we’ve got a new president and a failing economy so let’s hope for the best and all do our part to keep the good times rolling.   This month, I’m proud to present you with one of my favorite djs of all time doing a guest mix for my proton show.  For you local Austinites, you know him as Mike, one half of the legendary drum and bass duo, The Motavaders.  Mike has since moved to Boston, married to his awesome wife Rita and has a super cute kid named Sophia.   Check his mix of hip hop and trip hop.

For my mix, I’ve been pushing even further into genres that are new and fresh to me including dubstep, trip hop, glitch, and laser rap.   I really like the few Joker tracks and I think the new Mos Def track is one of his best.  The Lupe Fiasco track at the end is remixed by Kraddy who is part of The Glitch Mob and is one sound that I’m really enjoying at the moment.  Overall, I think its a smooth mix with some bangers throughout.  Leave a comment and let us know what you think.
